I had a secret meeting..

In the basement of my brain... :-)

So I listen to a lot of music. I love that I am able to tailor what’s playing to match the mood I’m in – I quite often use music as either a means of escape(if I’m bored and need to be distracted) or as a mood enhancer. I find it much more stimulating and less frustrating then watching television.

Here’s some of what is currently holding my attention, and fortunatly they all have a MSPACE page, so it's easy for you to go over there and have a listen if your interested..just click on the band name.

Cloud Cult – Advice from the Happy Hippopotamus: I love bands with a raw, unpolished sound, and these guys definitely deliver on that. This album makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because the music is so diverse and awesome (it rocks!). Sad because the lead singer’s 2-year-old son died a few years ago, and I always have that in the back of my mind when listening to his lyrics.

The National – Alligator: these guys have a fantastic sound. Dark and uplifting at the same time. “Secret Meeting” is one of my favs, hence the title of this post :-)

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah:
another band with a really raw sound. This CD has been in heavy rotation for me for a while now. Total DIY success story – they produced and pressed the album themselves, and have sold well over 100,000 copies without a label or a distribution deal.

Ghostland Observatory – Paparazzi Lightning: guaranteed to make you want to dance. I’m amazed at the sounds these two guys can make. Boogie time. For real.

Ok, so that's it for now. I have more I would love to mention, but I'll save them for a later time.

PS- Did anyone see my paintings down there? Were they that bad? I haven't gotten any comments on them, and you know I'm sensitive about my shit! hehe. It's ok if you don't like it, because she's the one that paid for it and she likes it alot, but it's always neat to get other opinions too, ya know?

No, I don't think so. That is a harsh way to lose a pet. The sting will be there for a while...unfortunatly.

Take care (((hugs)))

First, I want to tell KSboy50 thanks for the note. I got it yesterday. It is always a cool thing to get a real piece of mail in these places. Second, is this music something that I would listen to or is this definitely your thing? You haven't mentioned these bands before is why I ask. Love you.
